What We Collect

From Instructors:

  • Name and email
  • Course and class info
  • Assignment feedback and grades
  • Login/activity data

From Students:

  • Name and email (only if added or invited by instructor)
  • Assignment submissions and revision history
  • Feedback and grades

We do not collect student data unless it is provided by an instructor or institution.

How We Use It

  • Operate and improve the platform
  • Facilitate grading and student feedback
  • Notify students when papers are graded
  • Comply with school or legal obligations

We do not sell or rent any personal or student data. Ever.

Student Data

Instructors control and manage all student data. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with school or legal policies. PaperMind operates as a data processor, not a data owner.

Security

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Role-based and row-level database security
  • Secure authentication and authorization systems

Retention

  • Instructor data is kept as long as the account is active.
  • Student data is kept only as needed for platform services.
  • All data is deleted upon instructor account deletion or after 90 days of inactivity.

Your Rights

Instructors can access, edit, or delete their own and their students’ data at any time from within the app.
